Director of Program Development

Rick Goodwin, director program development

As the Assistant Administrator, Rick Goodwin provides operational support for assigned departments, communicates routinely with the other hospital leadership to ensure policy and practice enhance the patient experience, quality and service. As needed he coordinates the development and implementation of new and existing service lines, programs and special projects. He works to ensure that programs and strategies align with the vision Beechwood Memorial, and those of HCA, and facilitates teams in the development of systems and processes required to support a collaborative, integrative approach to coordinating care within and between service lines, the referring community, and the hospital.

Rick holds a Master of Science degree in Speech Pathology. As a 20-something college student, Rick was a passenger in a devastating car accident that took the lives of two close friends and caused massive trauma injuries for a third. The experience was life-changing for him. As he participated in his friend’s struggle through lengthy rehabilitation from her head injury, Rick was inspired to change course and focus his college studies not on becoming a CPA, but instead on head injury rehabilitation. The financial field’s loss is the distinct gain for the patients he has served.

Rick has been at Beechwood Memorial since 2002, and the accomplishments in his 26 year career in health care continue to grow with his promotion to Beechwood Memorial’s Administrative team in 2012. He became the Assistant Administrator in January of 2014, and finished a MBA in Healthcare Management in February of the same year.

Rick is a motorcycle enthusiast and rides to work whenever the weather allows. He lives to play tennis, but also loves to sit quietly and read a good book under the warm sunshine. He has been married to Becky for 25 years and together they have four children.
