Our Medical Directors
The Medical Directors of the EIRMC Wound Care Center bring unique skills to the treatment of your most hard-to-heal wounds. Dr. Brian Bruggeman is well-equipped to surgically close wounds that won’t heal on their own, and podiatrist Dr. Tony Quinton is expert at caring for the complex and challenging diabetic foot.
Brian B. Bruggeman, MD
Dr. Bruggeman is Board Certified in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and received both his undergraduate degree and his medical degree from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
He completed his residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in an integrated program at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York. This was a six-year residency that combined general surgery and plastic surgery training.
Dr. Bruggeman received additional training in the surgical treatment of burns at Westchester Burn Center in Valhalla, New York. He also spent time as a surgeon at the Pediatric Hospital in Santiago, Dominican Republic.
Originally from Idaho, Dr. Bruggeman is an avid outdoorsman. In his spare time, he especially enjoys skiing, hunting and fishing.
Tony Quinton, DPM, CWS
Dr. Tony Quinton is a podiatric surgeon with a special interest and training in the treatment of lower extremity wounds. Dr. Quinton graduated from the California College of Podiatric Medicine and completed a surgical residency at VA Hospital San Francisco.
Dr. Quinton has been affiliated with the EIRMC Wound Care Center for four years and became the Medical Director for Lower Extremity Wounds in 2010. He is board-certified in both foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and wound care by the American Academy of Wound Management. He is also a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association. Dr. Quinton specializes in the treatment of diabetic foot wounds, venous and arterial leg ulcers, and traumatic or post-surgical wounds.
He operated a private practice in Anchorage, Alaska for six years before returning to his native Idaho Falls in 2005.
