Planning for the birth of your baby can be exciting, exhilarating, and sometimes anxiety-producing! Here at EIRMC, we offer many free childbirth classes to help you feel more comfortable about delivery, breastfeeding, and caring for your newborn.
With something for everyone, our classes range in subject from parents preparing to have their first child to experienced parents who need a refresher. We’re Having a Baby: Childbirth Preparation
Our Certified Childbirth Educators and Certified Lactation consultants will prepare you for labor & delivery, early parenting, and breastfeeding education with confidence and support. First-time and “experienced” expectant parents in the 6-8 months of pregnancy are welcome.
The class meets the 2nd Friday and Saturday of every month. Friday night we’ll discuss prenatal nutrition, preterm labor, relaxation, and tour Women’s Services.
Saturday’s class will educate about labor and delivery, post-partum and newborn care, including infant CPR. You will have a break for lunch from 1:00pm – 1:30pm, then return for Prenatal breastfeeding basics taught by our Certified Lactation consultants. Free. To register, call (208) 227-2778.

Prenatal Breastfeeding Class
At EIRMC, we encourage and support breastfeeding as baby’s best nutrition. Learn baby behavior, common challenges, and effective techniques to get you and baby off to the best start. This class is taught by an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant. Free. To register, call (208) 227-2778.

Gentle Touch Infant Massage
Infant massage has been shown to promote physical and emotional development, and help parents connect with their new baby. Learn techniques of infant massage to calm and soothe your baby. Pre-registration is required. To register, call (208) 227-2778.
