Gun control... or mental health treatment? What is the answer?

Idaho Falls, ID - There have been many tragic stories in national media this past year leading up to, and continuing after, the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary. One of the big discussion topics to erupt from these events is mental health.

EIRMC Behavioral Health Center psychologist Dr. John Landers shares with Local News 8 the same message he has shared many times this year - "Mental health needs to be recognized and treated just like physical health. It needs to be de-stigmatized." Forty-seven percent of adults will have a mental health event sometime in their life that can greatly benefit from some level of treatment.
