EIRMC's new PICU helps keep really sick kids close to home.

Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center is seeing high numbers of very sick kids - sick enough that their doctors feel they need to be in the hospital. And to help area physicians keep their sickest patients close to home, EIRMC's new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, open January 2013, offers advanced technology, highly-skilled staff and pediatric intensivists on staff.

Local News 8 reported that, because physicians are able to treat their sickest youngsters here knowing they have the PICU close at hand, EIRMC is seeing greater numbers of children with RSV and severe respiratory distress admitted to the hospital here rather than being sent to Salt Lake City. This is good for families in eastern Idaho as it saves them time, money and stress, and keeps families together.
